Everytime I make a plan for the New Year, at the end of that year, I am in such a different place than I had planned that I have to stop and thank my Mom for her wisdom.

I do hope that every blessing you wish for this year comes true.

Your web site is so clean and beautiful, I am sure it will attract the same into your world.

Beth

ToysPeriod is a leading online shop specializing in lego sets and model railroad equipment.

Comment on Memories Sew Sweet

This design is certainly one that grows more appealing the colder it becomes out of doors.

It is easy to imagine snuggling under a quilt with this design.

The earth tones add to the feeling of security while the delicate pattern pleases the artistic sense.

In other words, this design/quilt has it all.

Comment on Happy Halloween!

This bear reminds me of the Teddy Bear and the story of how that particular bear came to be named.

Of course, the Teddy Bear was named after President Theodore Roosevelt.

The way the story goes, the President was on a hunting trip at the invitation of the Governor of Georgia.

Roosevelt hadn't "bagged" anything, while several others in the party had done so.

The President's attendants took it upon themselves to have the hounds corner an American black bear. Exhausted, subdued with clubs, and tied to a willow tree, the animal was offered to Roosevelt to shoot. Roosevelt scolded his men for the abuse of the animal, and refused to shoot it as unsportsmanlike. Unfortunately, the bear had to be put down because of the injuries it had already suffered. The President wasn't happy.

The story of Roosevelt's mercy got back to the Washington Post which did a political cartoon of the incident. The rest as far as the Teddy Bear is concerned is, as they say, history.

Comment on Memories Sew Sweet

The quilt by its very nature brings to mind the pioneering days of the log cabin, at least in the US that is true.

In Europe other traditions reign.

When we combine the rustic flavor of the art with rustic humor such as we find with "Sew Sweet," the picture is complete in its grace and innocence.

Comment on Eco-Chic Decorating

Hi:

I had no idea that items of this kind could be useful.

I should have.
