I'm bribing the cat. With cold weather settling in, I've had to move my outside plants indoors. The cat thinks that means he gets to eat them. Hence the bribery. Which is hard to do with our furry feline companion—cause he's a finicky, picky creature. He doesn't, as a rule, eat people food. He doesn't like catnip. He totally rejects packaged cat nibbles, but he does have a thing for the kids' chewing gum and for tuna fish. Just a little weird, huh?
Anyway, back to the bribery. I'm making the cat a batch of Kittie Kookies from a free recipe I found on the Pet Pantry page of FreePetProjects.com. They're just flour, tuna, and oil. Sounds pretty easy…So the cat gets a Thanksgiving treat. (There are lots of great recipes and fun projects at FreePetProjects.com, especially for dogs and even some for other critters.)
Now, the-love-of-my-life's looking at me funny. I think he wants a treat, too. (Maybe I need a website for free husband projects.) Seriously, though, with Christmas coming up, we have to start thinking about special treats for the men in our lives. Men are so hard to buy for...What are some of the great little things you do for your spouse? I really need some creative suggestions beyond socks and sugar cookies.
