I was up till all hours of the night, last night, clutching my purse and listening to the tornado sirens go off. In such situations, I find myself stressing over the oddest things. For example:
• Can anyone tell the difference between cat paw prints and dog paw prints? Can I still call the project I'm working on a Dog Blanket if it's got felt cat paw prints on it? • Why do otherwise intelligent, well-behaved Arkansas drivers loose about 50 IQ points when it rains? • What do bunnies and eggs have to do with Easter? And why don't I already know the answer to that question, so my daughter doesn't think I'm a total ignoramus. • I have to buy 12 glue sticks. Why should stopping by the store for these on my way home from work freak me out almost as much as a full-blown shopping extravaganza? • Why does it take longer to mail a package from the United States to the United Kingdom than it does to mail the same package from the United Kingdom to the United States? • I really like the quilt on the cover of #4566 Better Homes and Gardens® 1-2-3 Quilt. The colors are fabulous. I wish someone who loved me would make me one. It's just a simple four-patch, from a delightfully well done beginner quilting book, and I should be able to make it for myself, but I'm frightened…Why am I letting that sewing machine intimidate me? • How much is too much to glom on an artist trading card? Will that last little glop of gold leafing pen take it right over the edge and down the other side of tacky? • Who will care, or even notice, if I shove the last (totally unhealthy) snack cake in the house in my mouth, even though I've already eaten two during the course of the evening? • Will the road on the way into town be flooded after the storm? (Yes, it was. But why was I still compelled to drive that way when I strongly suspected I'd have to backtrack?) • Some days I really feel like a cat confronted by a closed door. No matter what side of the door he's on, it's the wrong side, and he's pretty sure he's missing something important on the other side. I think I'm missing something. Wonder what?
Who, what, when, where, why, and how…Now I'm worried that I left a couple of the "W"s out of this silly blog entry! (Here's the where—you can find the 1-2-3 Quilt Book at www.theleisureboutique.com.

The eggs I can explain; they represent the ripeness of Spring. Fertility, that's what pagan's used in olden times. It is a visible bringing of life. The rabbit that one gets me. I guess an example is again that winter is over and the rabbit show up again and are busy making little rabbits. Global warming has changed all that they are mating 24/7. Reply to this

I think it's because Parcel Force (the UK's package wing of the Royal Mail system) sucks. The moment it hits our (UK) shores it gets bogged down into the nightmare of Parcel Force and just sits there for a week or two before they deign to pretend to deliver it. (Most times they don't deliver, they just drop a slip through the door -- even if you are home at the time, they don't knock -- saying that your package is at the post office.) Reply to this
