Mad About Hats???

Over and over again, when my girls were little, they watched a video called, Care Bears in Wonderland. And over and over, they sang the Mad Hatter's theme song, "I'm Mad About Hats." Consequently, every time I start thinking about hats, that song reverberates through my head…
I am a little mad (in a good way) about the current hat trend. Hats are in for this winter season. I soon discovered that I needed a hat or hats. And I've been just a little psychotic about making them. Everybody in the family and all the friends got crocheted hats for Christmas this year. I'm still crocheting hats!
For inspiration during this hat-making phase, I turned to one of my favorite hat designers, Mary Estok Nolfi. I started off with her book, Crocheted Hats for the Beginner. It includes six super-easy hats—all crocheted in the round. These patterns are great, and they work up in no time!
To suit my ultra fashion conscious friends, I went once again to Mary's designs, this time to our Leisure Arts iCrochet Adventurous Hats and Bags. Geared to the intermediately skilled crocheter, these hats (with matching bags) feature yummy bulky weight yarns, and they made the perfect one-of-a-kind gifts for the divas in my life. Warning: Don't be surprised if you suddenly find yourself creating hats for everyone you know and humming a little song…I suspect the obsession may be contagious.
