Red & yellow & pink & green…

I
keep hearing things like “yellow is this spring’s pink” and “red is
this year’s black.” And while I understand what those statements
imply: “yellow is as popular this spring as pink was last spring” and
“red is the new go-to color, much like oft-seen neutral black,” I can’t
help wondering if there’s ever truly a wrong time for a certain
color. Sure, you don’t wear white to a wedding, but is there ever
a time in spring when either pink or yellow isn’t appropriate? Is
there ever a little-black-dress-worthy cocktail party where a little
red dress wouldn’t also be stunning? And if everyone else is
wearing yellow, maybe you’d want to be the rose amongst
daffodils wearing a lovely shade of pink. So the next time you
hear someone exclaiming that “green is the new blue” or some such
nonsense, just clad yourself in a color that suits your complexion (or
mood, whichever you prefer), and enjoy experimenting with color in your
clothing.
